Thanks for coming to Mackillop College and giving us that very entertaining and inspiration talk about being an author. Thank you for entertaining us while reading your two biggest sellings world shaker and liberator. You have made me want to read books now because they take you on adventures and that use your imagination.

Hello there. WOW! That pretty much sums up your performance. It was amazing, mind-blowing. Your novel’s sound very entertaining and I am considering reading Worldshaker. I’m not an avid reader, yet the extraction you read from the novel really inspired me to read more. Thank you very much for visiting Mackillop, It was inspirational and informative. I am Caitlin. I am in year 10 at Mackillop and i would just like to thank you for your talk at our school the other day.
I thoroughly enjoyed your reading of World Shaker. It was very enjoyable and i would enjoy reading it so if i see a copy I will grab hold of it.
I would love to be a writer like you but I prefer true stories.
I have been on the writing tips website and am planning on use those skills in my next writing activity.
I often write short stories when I am at home, just like you used to, and I would love to turn them into a novel, like you have done.
You seem to really enjoy your work so make sure you keep striving for your goals.

Hope the writing tips help you, Caitlin, though they’re really directed towards genre fiction – fantasy and Sf, or crime or thriller etc. True life stories are a bit different – for a start, if you want to keep them true, you cant develop them beyond what really happened. Me, I like characters and events to be larger than life!

Im going to stop writing such big words now, the above was just to show you how much you inspired me to become a better writer, Land shaker sounds really interesting and i plan on reading it in the future. hi Richard,
thankyou very much for your interesting visit an talk with the many students of mackillop college on tuesday. many of us found your stories different to most writers yet much more intriguing to read. personally, i thought the way you read out the extract from your book with great confidence was a way of grabbing the audiences attention and it was funny to listen to and watch your actions, it made us laugh.
unfortuneately i haven’t had a chance to read your novels before, but after your talk i will definitely go and read one- the world-shaker is the top of my list. all the best with future publishing and i hope you achieve much more success.

Hi Jess! Yes, I gave you the beginning of the story, but I’ll bet you never guess where it’ll go. I mean, apart from the fact that Col and Riff will get together at the very very end! Some of the characters are good people, others are utterly bad and mad!

I thought that it was really interesting especially when you were talking about your some of your childhood. When you had finished ready the first part of the book I want to find out what happened next! I thought that it was really exciting!
